Arkansas Call to Action: Take action now to oppose SB 447 which would prohibit vaping where smoking is banned

Senate Bill 447 would alter the state’s definition of “smoking” to include the use of electronic (or digital) cigarettes.  In fact, the way the bill is currently written, “carrying” an e-cigarette in an indoor public space would be prohibited.

SB 447 was scheduled to be heard in the Senate Committee on Public Health, Welfare, and Labor several days ago.  However, the committee ran out of time to hear the bill.   We have received credible information that the hearing will likely be rescheduled and the bill will heard over the next few days (during the week of 3/16).

Please take action now and send an email to the committee and your state senator urging them to oppose this bill.

(Writing Tip #1) If you have a lot to say, please craft your email in a separate word doc and then copy/paste it into the field provided.  If you take too long, they system will time out and you will lose your work.

(Writing Tip #2) Although we've provided a prewritten email with compelling talking points, we would strongly encourage you to edit the email because personalized communications to legislators are far more persuasive than form letters.  At a minimum, PLEASE INSERT YOUR PERSONAL STORY (just a few sentences) in the text of your email
