0:40 – CASAA attended Vape Blast in Ft. Worth.
2:00 – Pennsylvania Call to Action issued Thursday and is being updated to include emails to Senate and to include a few more points.
3:15 – Washington Call to Action updated on Thursday. House Committee on Commerce and Gaming heard the issue on 3-16-15. Bill has not been voted out of committee, and the Call to Action remains active.
5:20 – Rhode Island Call to Action issued this weekend for proposed legislation that would ban e-cigarette use in all indoor locations. Wednesday, 3-18-15 at 5:30 p.m. hearing.
5:50 – Alabama Call to Action issued this weekend for proposed legislation that would impose a tax of 25 cents per milliliter, adding $7.50 to a 30 ml bottle of liquid. Referred to House Committee on Ways and Means General Fund.
9:00 - Arkansas Call to Action issued this weekend for proposed legislation that would ban e-cigarette use wherever smoking is prohibited. Poorly drafted and would prohibit a person from even carrying an e-cigarette into a public space. Expected to be heard in committee as early as this week.
10:50 – Vermont Call to Action will be updated to include a new campaign (email and phone calls) for a tax at 92% of wholesale price. (Editor’s note: Vermont Call to Action was updated early this morning, 3-17-15.) This is in addition to the campaign in Vermont regarding potential flavor ban.
15:00 – We’re receiving good participation from members. For example, in Pennsylvania, we’ve gained 1,000 members, and 50% of the Pennsylvania members have participated in the Call to Action.
