Petition the German Parliament: “Don’t implement ART 20 TPD!”
We should preface this by making it clear that this is not your run-of-the-mill petition (Petition 61453). In the context of the German Parliament, this is part of the legislative process. As such, there are detailed instructions for signing this petition on the original post. Rather than rewrite the entire post -- which is thorough and you should plan to take about 15 minutes to sit down with it -- we will simply take this opportunity to explain why your participation is vital.
- German vapers (or “steamers,” as the literal translation goes) have written this petition to demand that their government reject implementing Article 20 of the EU’s Tobacco Products Directive (TPD). For a detailed look at Article 20 of the TPD and why it should be vehemently opposed, please see analysis provided by Clive Bates here.
- This petition needs 50,000 signatures in order to be presented to the German Parliament. Fortunately, those signatures can come from anywhere. In fact, it may be very beneficial if a large portion of them come from outside of Germany.
- The deadline for reaching the threshold is Wednesday, January 20th, 2016. (It is absolutely vital that you provide accurate information when registering to participate in the German petition system. False or inaccurate personal info may jeopardize consideration of this petition.
Please follow the detailed walkthrough provided by German Vapers and register with the German Parliament website so you can Sign This Petition. (We recommend viewing the site as translated by Google for easier navigation -- unless, of course, you read/speak German)
